Ingredients:
- 1 pound pork belly, cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cooking wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 4 slices ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 star anise
- 1 cup water
Directions:
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the pork belly cubes for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, heat a small amount of oil and sauté the green onions, ginger, garlic, and star anise until fragrant.
- Add the blanched pork belly to the pot and stir-fry for a few minutes until lightly browned.
- Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, cooking wine, sugar, and salt. Stir well to coat the pork belly with the sauce.
- Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1-1.5 hours, until the pork belly is tender and the sauce has thickened.
