I finally made the red hot Hurricane Cakeroll with natural red yeast rice powder! Check out my page for chocolate and matcha versions.
Yolk Batter:
- 5 egg yolks
- 55g milk
- 50g corn oil
- 60g cake flour
Meringue:
- 5 egg whites
- 50g sugar
- 5g lemon juice
Red Paste:
- 7g red yeast rice powder
- 15g hot water
Instructions:
- Mix milk and oil, add flour, then yolks.
- Beat egg whites with lemon juice and sugar until medium peaks.
- Fold meringue into yolk batter.
- Mix some batter with red paste.
- Pour plain batter in pan, pipe red batter on top, draw lines.
- Bake at 150°C for 30 minutes.
- Cool, then roll the cake.
