Traditional Filipino Lumpia Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Ground pork (1 pound)
  • Minced onion (1/2 cup)
  • Minced garlic (2 cloves)
  • Finely shredded carrot (1/2 cup)
  • Chopped green onions (1/2 cup)
  • Thinly sliced green cabbage (1/2 cup)
  • Thinly sliced celery (1/2 cup)
  • Soy sauce (1 teaspoon)
  • Black pepper (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Lumpia wrappers (30 pieces)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Combine pork, onion, garlic, carrot, green onions, cabbage, and celery in a bowl. Season with soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling onto each lumpia wrapper. Fold, tuck in ends, and roll tightly. Seal with water.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet over medium heat. Fry lumpia in batches until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.
  4. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
